We are Here!

The airplane cabin starts to stir and all of the people who really didn't sleep, gladly eat the nondescript piece of loaf that looks like lemon and smells like banana.  Why is it that we are thankful for whatever they put down in front of us on a plane?

We have flown over the water and are ready to land in Ireland.  For my sister it is a third trip. For my husband, brother and I, it is our first.  We have our raincoats, umbrellas and layers of clothing to keep the damp at bay.  This trip is done in the reverse of our ancestors, whom we hope to find a trace.  They left this land 180 years ago, sealed in another type of ship.  They too would have been thankful for the coffee and loaf we just received.  Their trip was to start a new life, and our trip is for curiosity and pleasure.  Here we go!
